Heart Preserver

This little cutie is perfect for Valentine's Day! I just love her little flared skirt and rosie cheeks.

I don't know anything else about her and unfortunately she was gone when I went back to check her out further. They were asking $35 for her. I consider her to be a fairly rare find, so I think the asking price was reasonable!

I will update if I am able to find out more about her. She was just too darling not to share on the first day of February!

Vaseline Glass Shaker

I thought this shaker jar was so pretty. Made out of VASELINE GLASS, it has a metal shaker top. I've not seen too many pieces like this before. Unfortunately, the beautiful Vaseline glass glow doesn't come across in this picture. (Priced at $28)

In its molten state, URANIUM OXIDE was added to the glass, making that beautiful, unique glow. But don't worry, the U.S. Nuclear Regulation Commission states that the radiation in the glass is not harmful. Which is good news to collectors of this beautiful glass!

Anyone for Corn on the Cob?

I fell in LOVE with this pair of Chalkware wall plaques. The tag says 1955, but I'm really not sure if that is correct. From all the Chalkware I've seen over the years, this pair is in beautiful condition! It's not the easiest material to clean, as it is made out of plaster of Paris, so they really are in remarkable condition. The little boy has a piece missing above his one eye, but the little girl is practically perfect. The tag says $38.

I learned something new today about Chalkware! According to Collector's Weekly, 2 of the main places it was produced was in Lancaster and Philadelphia, PA! Right in my own backyard!

If I'd have known that at the time, I don't think I could have left this pair hanging there ... I think they'd be hanging in MY kitchen, instead! Hmmmmm ... I wonder if they're still there?

What's It All About?

I live in the midst of some wonderful VINTAGE shops. I'm always finding GREAT vintage items and I would LOVE to own them ALL! Of course that's IMPOSSIBLE, so I created this blog to have a place to SHARE all of my wonderful VINTAGE finds and where I can visit them often and PRETEND they are mine! I hope you ENJOY my great finds as much as I do!
